I've been dying to wear this jacket and this skirt for a very long time and decided today was the day I was going to wear both. I went out to dinner with my in-laws...I had a really great time, mainly because I really enjoy their company a lot. I'm very lucky to have great in-laws.

The Event

Boy, do I look terrible--I started to catch a cold yesterday evening and this morning it just kept getting worse and worse and we had a fundraiser to attend to tonight, it was called The Event.

It was held at a Yacht Club and there was a silent and live auction. This was our number #137 and it was to raise money for programs at a local elementary school (keep in mind I don't have any children...LOL) , we tried to bid on items but when a parking space goes for $6k, its hard to keep up with the Joneses and the Rockefeller's.

It was fun, but I really wanted to go home and crawl into bed, I'm ready for some tea and some sleep.

Blue Dress

I plan to re-do this post again next time I see my parents because one of the reason why I purchased this particular blue dress is because it literally looks like a dress I wore in JR. High School.

My sister is 10 years my senior and I was given all her hand me downs. I wanted to go to a school dance and my mom gave me one of my sister's dresses to wear. I hated it because it looked like a kid trying to play dress up, but since we grew up with no money it was that dress or not go at all.

When I saw this dress at the store I had to have it, it brought me back to memory lane and right before I went to my High School reunion last night, I stopped by my mom's house to show her and she said the exact the same..."didn't you wear that dress in Jr. High?"....

I asked her to try to find the picture so I can add it to my post. So hopefully next time I stop by she will have it ready for me :)

Happy Birthday to me!

My camera finally came in and just in time for my birthday, I am very happy it did. I took so many pictures because my husband had surprise after surprise for me. Not only did he surprise me with a flower, balloon and champagne at the table but the chef came out to Thank us personally with my birthday cake. Did I mention that my original play bill was replaced with one similar but had our picture in it with a inscription.

I think I might wear this dress more often...because I've worn this dress once before and something special always seems to happen.

I do have to admit my husband was amazing yesterday. Everything I asked, everything I wanted was given to me....no questions asked...very lovely...very.

We complimented each others animal --he was Zebra and I was Cheetah. Today was the last day of the family visits for the holidays and I had a great time. I went to visit my in-laws with my hubby and we had a wonderful dinner at their restaurant.

I actually wore this same outfit in Nov. for a trade show in Las Vegas but thought this outfit deserved a revisit because I felt great in it--besides, my hubby didn't see me in it the first time around.

I recently purchased this red jersey dress from Banana Republic (I heart you BR!) I've been looking for a red dress for a long time and finally found something that was simple and comfy like my pajamas :) It sort of bubbles up on top which is a feature I'm not to fond of, but other than that its the perfect red dress IMO.

I already have visions of how I can dress up or dress down this dress and I can't wait for my man to take me out at night so I can wear it as a night dress :)

Some of my co-workers had a weight loss contest and it ended yesterday...boy, was this the wrong dress to wear--It is a wool dress and it had to weigh 2 lbs..so I was bummed I forgot about the contest and I wish I wore something lighter...but I was warm!
OHHH--the scale said I lost 4 lbs in 1 month...I was happy with that, but I didn't win...the winner lost 13 lbs...which is fantastic and she looks great!

I won this beautiful bracelet from fashion after forty so of course I wanted to wear it right away when the package arrived late last night. This bracelet is gorgeous and it looks so fancy, so of course I had to put it with a sparkly dress :)

If you haven't had a chance to visit fashion after forty its a must see, not only does Sherry have an amazing wardrobe collection, but her private collection of gowns are to die for and her sense of humor shines right through. Thank you again Sherry for pulling my name out of a hat :)

Dinner with the inlaws

We met my in-laws at their restaurant they partially own today. I originally had a dress planned for this occasion but when I slipped on the dress I forgot it had a zipper, and tried to force it over my head and broke the zipper. It was unwearable and luckily I had this outfit inspired by Jennifer Aniston planned for a Vegas cocktail event next month for a trade show that I decided to wear at the last minute.

I also included a picture of my hubby since he looked very dapper--my hubby really has nice clothes, but for some reason doesn't use them unless he sees his parents. I took advantage and snapped a photo, a lot of bling going on today, but I was really happy that my last minute outfit came out quite well.

I wish I took a picture of my mother-in-laws Judith Leiber purse, it was to die for, but they always have stuff to die for :)
