mixing patterns

I bought these shoes and instantly regretted them, mainly because I wasn't sure what I was going to wear them with. However I saw them on Undergrad Fab and instantly changed my mind and I knew if she can rock the shoes, so could I. So here they are :-)

I've also been mixing patterns lately, but they have been so subtle, you can hardly seem them in pictures. I always wonder what seems normal to "US" (bloggers) may look weird to someone else. You can hardly see it, but the skirt has a VERY small checker pattern and a stripe waist coat, but from far away it looks like I'm wearing a gray skirt with a black vest, even though its really black and white.

You guys have always been nice to me, but there are days when I get TONS of compliments from customers, friends, family, even strangers and days were people don't seem to notice. I wonder if the days people don't seem to notice is when I'm dressing a little to weird or I shouldn't be wearing it at all.

I know I shouldn't care what people think, but I just don't want to look like a big dork...ya know?

The bump in my head

I wore the jacket closed because I think it just looked better, but I really wanted to talk about the bump in my head. I finally gave in and purchased the bumpits (the kind you seen on TV) Kimberly from Fab Finds Under $50 has talked about them and a few other bloggers but I wanted to try them and I had such a hard time. The thing wouldn't stay, I tried hairspray, teasing it, bobby pins, etc.. and nothing. My hair is so straight and fine, I had to keep taking them off and on and I just thought it was such a hassle.

It looked great when it was on, but a 1/2 hour later I kept feeling it move. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I very sad I can't get it to work.

Yard Sale

I had a yard sale this weekend. I was literally selling everything for $1.oo and $2.oo... I sold 16 pairs of shoes...Can you believe that? Someone took them all, I'm still shocked.

I had no problem letting them go, some were to big on me and I had a hard time walking in them, some were to tight and they'd pinch me and some were just passed their due date. Time will tell if I will miss them, like I miss these.

Shirts and pants sold too, but I was a bit surprise none of the dresses sold. O'well, I guess it was not a dress kind of crowd :-)

I started this blog because even though I own many clothes & accessories for some reason I kept wearing the same thing over and over again probably because it felt safe. This and your blogs has helped me get out of my rut.

I have to admit--dressing this way is far easier than trying to decide what to wear every morning. I'm not very organized, so trying to lay out my clothes for the week or wake up even earlier than I am now is not going to happen (trust me, I tried)

I was watching a re-run of TLC's What not to Wear and this caught my eye. Mainly because I had the pieces to try to duplicate the look. What do you think? close enough?
